The subsidy levels under the Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC) Banding Scheme for wind farms and other types of renewable energy, had been planned to be cut by 10%. Although is was rumoured that Chancellor George Osbourne was pushing for cuts as big as 25%.
The final decision was meant to be announced on July 17th 2012, however the government have decided to delay this until later in the year.
Comments have already been made on the subject with RenewableUK chief executive saying it is “unacceptable.”
