Aveillant’s 3D Holographic Radar is set to be installed at Cambridge Airport by the end of 2012. The airport will test the new radar technology which can distinguish between the characteristics of air traffic, and the doppler returns from wind turbine. It is those doppler returns that cause the unwanted clutter on conventional radar screens.
With Wadlow wind farm nearby, the airport will make use of the 3D Holographic Radar’s long range detecting ability to track air traffic over the 13 turbine development.
