The UEFA Euro 2024 tournament saw Spain crowned the winners for a record-breaking fourth time. The tournament also aimed to deliver the highest sustainability standards.

The ESG Strategy
UEFA first presented the Event Social Responsibility (ESR) in 2021, as part of bidding proposals for host nations. This was later evolved to correlate with UEFA’s Football Sustainability Strategy 2030. The outcome was the UEFA Euro Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.
The strategy outlines the ambitions towards achieving the sustainable development goals.
The Environmental Pillar
The environmental pillar of the ESG Strategy concerns targets towards climate action, sustainable infrastructure and circular economy. The table below summarises some key targets and actions taken to reach sustainability goals:
