German turbine manufacturer has entered the South African wind energy market by securing a contract to supply and install 60 turbines, each 2.3MW, for the Jeffreys Bay wind farm development. Also the company has announced that they will maintaining the turbines for a decade.
The Jeffreys Bay development is located between Jeffreys Bay and Humasndorp, two towns on the Eastern Cape. It was named as one of twenty eight preferred projects under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) of South Africa, and is planned to be operational by mid 2014.
