Radar mitigation viability: Technology Readiness Level

Radar mitigation viability: Technology Readiness Level
August 15, 2011 Admin

We use a standard measure when assessing the viability of radar mitigation schemes for wind farm developments.

This measure is known as Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and the scale ranges from TRL1 (Basic principles observed) through to TRL9 (Actual Technology system qualified through successful mission operations). TRL is considered along with many other factors, such as cost, when comparing mitigation solutions and recommending the most appropriate.

Actual solutions considered often involve local in fill radar from Cambridge Consultants, C Speed and others, in fill solutions from existing radar, modifications to the affected radar or “stealth” wind turbine blades.

We are driven to deliver you the best advice for your site, and can complete a custom Mitigation Report. Talk to one of them by calling +44 (0) 1787 319001.
