Reported in the Clovis News Journal on December 10th 2012, construction of an 18 MW wind project has been delayed because the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) want to assess its impact on civil and military aircraft.
The development, located in the state of New Mexico, was due to be constructed by the Minneapolis firm National Renewable Solutions (NRS) at the end of this year however this is more likely to be early 2013 now whilst developers wait for the results. Peter Pelstring (NRS CEO) said to Clovis that even if the FAA deem the wind turbines to have a negative aviation impact, it “wouldn’t necessarily kill the project, but would require a different finacing structure…”.
