Overview
After a slight delay in November knocking back the release date, Christmas really has come early in 2020 as the third edition of Pager Power’s glint and glare guidance is now available to download. You can download the guidance document from the link at the top of the page. The team will also be sharing the document with our clients and stakeholders accordingly.
Third Edition Enhancements
Amendments and revisions within the third edition include:
- An updated Literature Review section
- Updated significance flow charts for determining the impact of solar reflections for road and dwelling receptors.
- Further comments on common considerations from railway stakeholders for glint and glare assessments including building and solar photovoltaic developments.
- Additional details regarding aviation assessments for building developments and the safeguarding of non-typical aviation receptors.
We have noticed our methodology appearing in various forms within stakeholder guidance documents and through methodologies presented to us at the quoting stage. This is great to see and we hope our latest edition leads to an even better quality and more comprehensive assessment standard across the industry, all with a more consistent assessment methodology.
The guidance document has been well received since its first edition back in 2017, and we are continually drawing from our experience in over 1,300 assessments completed in this area to date. Nevertheless, we are continually seeking to refine and improve the methodology so that stakeholders’ and clients’ concerns are understood and assessed appropriately. Therefore if you have any feedback on our guidance, our methodology and our reports, please let us know.
