With the third round of the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) complete, it was announced who had achieved Preferred Bidder status from the country’s Department of Energy.
Mainstream Renewable Power
Among the 7 chosen bidders for onshore wind was Mainstream Renewable Power. The leading South African renewable energy developer won 3 onshore wind projects, with a total capacity of 360MW:
- Noupoort, 80MW
- Loeriesfontein, 140MW
- Khobab, 140MW
We were particularly pleased for the company since we performed technical assessments on the latter 2 projects, both located in the Northern Cape region.
