Background
Pager Power is growing with its technical team working close to maximum capacity due to increasing workload. This increase in work is mainly for wind and solar projects overseas and also for construction projects in the vicinity of aerodromes in the United Kingdom.
The company has therefore recruited and appointed our new technical analyst Andrea Mariano who we will be welcoming into our team on 22 January – so you may get to speak to him or hear from him soon.
Recruitment
There were over 20 applicants for the post with demanding requirements for written English; technical skills and the proven ability to work with our team and customers. Three applicants were interviewed in the week before Christmas – with Andrea demonstrating his passion for renewables as well as excellent technical, writing and customer skills.
Geography
Andrea is Italian with the family home being near Trieste in north east Italy close to the border with Slovenia. He has been living and studying in the United Kingdom for a number of years and has been awarded a good masters degree from the University of Exeter where he studied Renewable Energy – with a particular focus on large scale wind and solar projects and using GIS systems.
His new role at Pager Power will allow him to work on both wind and solar projects – which is something he is passionate about and is important to him.
As well as speaking good English and Italian, Andrea worked in France last year and speaks some French.
Technical Analyst
Initially Andrea will be supporting other technical team members Kai, Danny and myself. He will start by reviewing reports and will then start to draft reports and eventually write them himself. He will learn to undertake Glint and Glare Assessments; Radar Impact Assessments and Telecommunications Impact Assessments.
We look forward to Andrea joining us in our Sudbury Office on 22 January.
