Our assessments are undertaken in accordance with ‘INSTRUCTION N°1050/DSAÉ/DIRCAM’, as set out by the French Ministry of Defence (known as the ‘Ministère des Armées’) and Eurocontrol guidance. When is an assessment required?
A French military radar impact assessment is required when a new wind development is located within 70km of a French military radar, and the radar potentially has line of sight to the wind development. Our bespoke software has the capability to model the effects upon the French military radar and provide an overview of various mitigation options that can be explored if objections are sustained.
What if mitigation is required?
There are a number of radar mitigation options that can be explored. The provision of a ‘compensation radar’ is a mitigation method that is sometimes preferred by the French military. Pager Power also has extensive experience in undertaking further studies to determine the locations that would be most suitable for a new radar.
