According to trouw.nl the Dutch Ministry of Defence is considering an increase of the protection zone around military radar installations as a result of increasing wind turbine numbers and sizes. More specifically the current protection zones around 8 military radar are likely to increase from 28km to 75km as of July 2012. This means that a wind farm developer will have to gain consent by the MOD to built a wind farm when located within a distance of 28 – 75km of the radar.
