ROCs for onshore wind will be cut by the planned 10% to 0.9 per MWh. Although this has been announced for 2013 – 2017 period, the government have only guaranteed the 0.9 level up until 2014 meaning IT could alter significantly after that date.
With regard offshore wind announcements were also as expected, attracting 2 ROCs in 2013 – 2015, 1.9 for 2015/2016 and 1.8 for 2016/2017.
Support will be increased for wave and tidal generation projects going up from 2 ROCs to 5, with a 30MW limt to cultivate growth in the sector.
