Earlier this month Ipsos-Mori conducted research into the publics views on renewable energy. The findings suggest that the majority of the public do support wind energy.
Just over 1,000 adults from a representative sample were included in this research. The key results show that 59% of those asked think that wind energy reduces the UKs dependence on fossil fuels whilst reducing carbon emissions. The survey also revealed that just under half (48%) think that wind power provides a secure supply of energy to the UK, as well as providing jobs in the wind energy sector and its supply chain.
These positive findings are particularly pertinent as this time due to the Clean Energy Ministerial meeting taking place this week. The meeting will bring ministers from more than 20 nations to London to discuss low-carbon energy.
