After obtaining planning permission in April 2010, the appeal to remove conditions 2 and 3 as well as the variation of condition 4 for the Nutsgrove wind farm development was accepted by Peterborough City Council on 4th May 2012.
Conditions 2, 3 and 4 were originally set out by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to prevent disruption to air operations at RAF Wittering, particularly with regard to training of Harrier pilots. The appeal arose after the decision to remove Harrier aircraft from operational service was made by the then Secretary of State Defence.
The variation of condition 4 will make certain that adequate mitigation measures are in place so as to not impact upon the present Precision Approach Radar (PAR) system at RAF Wittering.
