MOD radar objection for medium wind turbine in Lancashire

MOD radar objection for medium wind turbine in Lancashire
January 20, 2014 Admin

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) have raised an objection towards a medium sized turbine in Lancashire. Reported in the Lancashire Telegraph, the 36.6m turbine would cause “unacceptable interference” to the Air Traffic Control (ATC) radar situated at Warton Aerodrome.

If you have radar concerns about a particular installation, we would recommend ordering our Radar Line of Sight Assessment with Expert Commentary. The report will tell you whether a specific radar can “see” a wind turbine, whilst within the commentary we will use our experience to advise you on the best way forward. The earlier the report is ordered in the planning process, the better.
