Last week the EU signed a 4 year agreement to offer their financial support to Chinese low-carbon promoting pilot projects.
China is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in the world, and total funding of around $32.4 million will go into helping Chinese cities become more efficient in resource management. Additionally the money will help the country to design and develop an emissions trading scheme.
As well as financial backing, the EU will be offering technical advice based on it’s own experience.
