Sometimes there is a discrepancy between the results of Pager Power terrain based assessments (both on-line and desk based) and those undertaken by aviation stakeholders for wind farm radar issues. This can be for a variety of reasons.
It is important that any assessment uses accurate radar position data, known digital terrain data and an accurate but conservative algorithm for calculating radar line of sight.
In a recent case where there was a discrepancy between a radar operators assessment and a Pager Power assessment. In this particular case the operator re-assessed and withdrew their objection to the proposed wind development.
